Mannatech Announces Open Registration for TWU’s Nutrition and Personal Health Coaching Certification Program

COPPELL, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 4, 2012-- Registration is now officially open for the “Nutrition and Personal Health Coaching” course designed by the Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences at Texas Woman’s University (TWU), with input from Mannatech scientists. Mannatech, Incorporated (NASDAQ: MTEX), an award-winning developer and provider of technologically and scientifically advanced health, weight and fitness, and skin care products, highly recommends this course for anyone interested in personal improvement as well as for wellness coaches looking for ways to effectively help their clients.

This science-based course was designed to meet the growing demand of both health professionals and members of the general public who are eager to learn more about health and nutrition and discover how to implement this knowledge in realistic ways into their daily lives. With this curriculum, individuals can bolster their wellness business and/or overall knowledge about nutrition, integrative health, supplements and achieving a healthier lifestyle.

The highly qualified members of the TWU faculty bring a diverse array of training and nutrition-based backgrounds to the program. Dr. Chandan Prasad, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences at TWU, spent several years at the National Institutes of Health, was a Professor and Vice Chairman in the Department of Medicine at Louisiana State University, has authored/co-authored over 200 papers in the area of nutrition, and holds three U.S. and international patents. Dr. Prasad is one of the many distinguished faculty members who will teach this exciting, informative course.

As part of TWU’s curriculum Dr. Rob Sinnott, Co-CEO and Chief Science Officer at Mannatech, will be guest lecturing on the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA) of 1994. Upon completion of this 45-hour, university-level program, participants will earn a Certificate of Completion of Training as well as continuing education credit hours.

Most courses with this kind of academic pedigree cost around $1,500 or more. TWU is offering this extensive training for $525. A detailed curriculum and other information about this course can be found at TWU.edu.

Like Mannatech, TWU promotes the concept of social entrepreneurism and making a difference: The proceeds from this class will be used to fund scholarships for needy and deserving undergraduate and graduate students. So, while students increase their knowledge and the marketability of their skills, they will also be helping others.
