Mannatech Appoints Angela Manuel to General Manager, Canada

Industry veteran has helped lead change and growth in Canadian market

COPPELL, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May. 29, 2013-- Mannatech, Incorporated (NASDAQ: MTEX), the leading innovator and provider of naturally-sourced supplements based on Real Food Technology® solutions, announced today the appointment of direct selling veteran Angela Manuel as its new general manager of Canada. In this position, Manuel will oversee all sales and operational efforts for Mannatech’s Canadian business.

Angela Manuel joined Mannatech in 2010 as Director of Business Development. Over her tenure, Mannatech’s Canadian business has grown significantly in both sales and Associate enrollments. This surge has been largely influenced by the company’s Canadian Chinese market. Manuel has overseen and organized the company’s overall sales and field development efforts in Canada since 2010, working very closely with the sales force of independent Associates.

“My mantra for the past 20 years in direct sales is ‘Without the field, there would be no company,’” said Manuel. “I plan to help the Mannatech sales force across Canada and into the States understand their importance, realize their potential and experience what this company can do under the banner of servant leadership and social entrepreneurship.”

Prior to joining Mannatech more than three years ago, Manuel was manager of operations for GNLD International, Ltd, where she served in several roles since 1992. She has also served on boards of directors with both the Direct Sales Association’s regulatory affairs committee and the Direct Selling Education Foundation.

“Angela Manuel has been one of the most valuable additions to Mannatech over the past three years,” said Dr. Robert Sinnott, CEO and chief science officer for Mannatech. “We are fortunate and blessed to have someone who both understands the Canadian region and has an impressive background in direct sales as part of the Mannatech family. Angela’s leadership in Canada has been a crucial component of the company’s rebound, and I can only see her role becoming even more crucial in her new position as General Manager.”
