Mannatech Receives Patent for Technology Related to New Product
Singapore patent for new GI-ProBalance product technology validates strong potential for market success

COPPELL, Texas, Feb 15, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) --

Mannatech, Incorporated(NASDAQ: MTEX), a leading developer and provider of nutritional supplements and skin care products based on Real Food Technology(R) solutions, announced today the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore has granted the company a patent for technology related to its GI-ProBalance(TM) product.

Mannatech will celebrate the launch of this revolutionary, synbiotic product to its U.S. market during its annual international conference, MannaFestSM 2011, to be held March 10-12 in Dallas, TX.

The GI-ProBalance product is a pleasant tasting, yogurt-flavored powder packaged in convenient, portable slimsticks. It stimulates immune function, supports proper digestion, as well as GI-tract function, and improves absorption of nutrients.* The probiotic and prebiotic supplement was specifically formulated to work synergistically with Mannatech's flagship Ambrotose(R) products. GI-ProBalance slimsticks have already become a successful product for Mannatech's Asian and Australia/New Zealand markets.

"Having another patented product in our portfolio is great news for the company and our independent sales Associates across the country and around the world," said Robert A. Sinnott, Ph.D., MNS, co-CEO and chief science officer of Mannatech. "There has been a real drought of innovative, patented products in the nutritional supplement industry over the past few years. This patent validates Mannatech's tireless efforts to develop quality products based on patented technologies. Innovative products that provide real benefits to people are vital to Mannatech's growth and the growth of the dietary supplement industry."

This patent in Singapore strongly validates the quality of GI-ProBalance as it has only been available in that market since late October. Mannatech currently holds 64 patents in 30 countries for its health-related and glyconutrient technologies.

Many of Mannatech's products are based on Real Food Technology solutions, which provide consumers with products that contain standardized levels of natural and plant-sourced nutrients. Food-sourced ingredients are chosen from those scientifically proven to most benefit the human body.
