COPPELL, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 21, 2013--
Mannatech®,
Incorporated (NASDAQ: MTEX),
the founder of the Mission 5 MillionSM social entrepreneurial
movement and leading innovator of naturally-sourced supplements based on Real
Food Technology® solutions, is hosting a must-attend
speaking event in partnership with the College
of the Ozarks in Branson, Mo., on Thursday, August 29 and
Friday, August 30, featuring world-renowned pediatric neurosurgeon,
humanitarian and best-selling author Dr.
Ben Carson. The Thursday night event is open to the public.
Dr. Carson made global history in 1987 as the pediatric neurosurgeon who
performed the first separation of craniopagus (Siamese) twins joined at
the back of the head.. His career and fascinating story were featured in
the book and movie Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story. A
best-selling author, Dr. Carson just released his latest work, America
the Beautiful: Rediscovering What Made This Nation Great.
In 2004, Dr. Carson was amongst the speakers at Mannatech’s
annual conferences, MannaFest and MannaQuest. In 2011, he spoke
again at MannaFest, when Mannatech
CEO and Chief Science Officer, Dr. Robert Sinnott interviewed
him about Integrative Health. Dr. Carson shared his story of the
benefits he experienced when combining glyconutrients,
dietary changes, and standard-of-care medical treatment.
“God gave us (in plants) what we need to remain healthy,” said Carson.
“In today’s world, our food chain is depleted of nutrients and our
environment has helped destroy what God gave us.”
Over the span of this special event, Dr. Carson will cover highlights
from his newest book on what has made the United States great, and will
discuss the meaning, benefit and purpose of social entrepreneurship. He
will also share experiences and findings in health and medicine that
apply directly to Mannatech’s dedication to glyconutrients and
supplements derived from real food-based sources. As a social
entrepreneurship company, Mannatech is committed to helping in the fight
against global malnutrition by linking five million consumers to five
million children in need through its Mission
5 Million℠ movement.
The Thursday, August 29, event with Dr. Ben Carson at the College of the
Ozarks is open to the public. It begins with Dr. Carson’s message at 7
p.m., followed by a free book signing from 8:30–9 p.m.
