Top Mannatech Winners Lose 30 Total Inches in Fat-Loss Challenge

Top winner loses 27 percent total inches while using OsoLean® powder

(COPPELL, Texas) January 19, 2010Mannatech, Incorporated (NASDAQ: MTEX - News), a global pioneer in the development of high-quality health, weight and fitness, and skin care solutions based on nutritional science, announced winners of its OsoLean® Challenge, an international contest challenging its independent sales Associates in the United States, Canada and South Africa to try OsoLean powder for eight weeks and track the changes in their waists. The top three winners from the U.S. lost a combined total of 30 inches off their waists.

Sherri Burke of Nyssa, Ore., had the greatest percentage of total inches lost at 27 percent. In second and third place were Djuna Smith of Seattle, who lost 18 percent, and Jackie Denig of Payette, Idaho, who lost 16 percent.

“I started the OsoLean Challenge in May and knew deep down I could win,” said Burke, who lost a total of 15 inches off her waist. “The challenge gave me more confidence, and I feel better both physically and mentally. I have a sense of pride surrounding this accomplishment and the changes I have seen in myself.”

The challenge included educational sessions, regular measurements, a food and activity diary for meal and exercise planning, and peer motivation. Participants used the company’s fat-loss product, OsoLean powder, an all-natural, protein peptide blend that in a clinical test† promoted fat loss while sparing lean muscle when combined with a reduced-calorie diet, such as the OsoLean Plan and proper exercise.*

“We are proud of all of the participants in this challenge and hope they are encouraged to continue their healthy lifestyles and share their successes with others,” said Dr. Robert A. Sinnott, MNS, PhD, co-chief executive officer and chief global science officer of Mannatech. “The OsoLean Challenge supports the commitment to make improvements in health and achieve fat loss by diet and exercise.”

Burke, the winner with the greatest percentage of total inches lost, received a five-day, four-night luxury vacation getaway. In addition, she won a trip to MannaFestSM 2010, the company’s international conference for its independent sales Associates, including airfare, hotel accommodations and event registration, and a Stay Fit Gift Pack. The second and third place winners received a stay at MannaFest 2010, consisting of roundtrip airfare, hotel accommodations and event registration, and a Nintendo DS™ with Personal Trainer™: Cooking.

Note that some may have continued to lose weight/inches, as the contest ended on September 30, 2009. For additional information about OsoLean powder, the challenge and the OsoLean Plan, please visit MannatechOsoLean.com.
